We treat many patients suffering from scoliosis at Pure Chiropractic, by utilising our inhouse x-rays, Gonstead adjustments and other in depth techniques, we can reduce the spinal curvature to improve function, alleviate pain and improve your quality of life.
What is Scoliosis?
Scoliosis is a condition identified by an S-shaped curvature of the spine and is caused by various factors, such as genetics, trauma and environment, all of which can contribute to its development and its effect on your quality of life in the long term.
How to Identify Scoliosis?
It’s extremely important to identify early signs of scoliosis during childhood to begin treatment before the major growth spurt that occurs during early adolescence (ie 12 to 15 yrs olds).
Also it is worth noting that scoliosis is more prevalent in females, so make sure to have your children assessed by a Gonstead Chiropractor if any of the following symptoms become visibly present:
-One hip sitting higher than the other
-Ribs look uneven or protruding
-Uneven posture
-One leg shorter than the other
-One shoulder higher or lower than the other
Also scoliosis can present as discomfort, muscle spasms, fatigue and difficulty breathing, so it is extremely important that the earlier scoliosis is diagnosed the better!
