What is Webster Technique?
A Webster chiropractor refers to a chiropractic practitioner who is trained in the Webster Technique. The Webster Technique is a chiropractic approach primarily used during pregnancy to address pelvic alignment and balance.
The technique was developed by Dr. Larry Webster, a chiropractor, in the 1970s. It is based on the idea that proper function of the pelvis/lower spine can help facilitate a comfortable pregnancy and safer delivery for both the mother and the baby.
During pregnancy, hormonal changes can affect the ligaments and muscles around the pelvis, potentially leading to dysfunction or imbalances. These issues may contribute to pelvic constraint, making it difficult for the baby to get into an optimal position for birth (such as a head-down, or vertex positioning).
A Webster chiropractor uses gentle chiropractic adjustments and specific techniques to address these imbalances and encourage pelvic/spine function. By doing so, the body can communicate better with the brain and vice versa to promote comfort for the mother.
It’s important to note that the Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic method, and not all chiropractors may be trained in this approach. If you are considering seeking chiropractic care during pregnancy or for any other health concerns, it’s essential to find a qualified and licensed chiropractor with expertise in the area you need assistance with.
