Privacy Policy

Pure Chiropractic (Pure Group Unit Trust, ABN 93 878 091 964) (“Pure Chiropractic”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal and health information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).

Information we collect

To provide safe, effective chiropractic care, we collect:

  • Contact details — name, address, phone number, email, date of birth
  • Health information — medical history, presenting complaints, examination findings, treatment notes, X-ray images and reports
  • Information you provide through our website — via contact forms, appointment requests, or newsletter sign-up
  • Billing and health fund or Medicare details, where applicable

If you are booking on behalf of a child, we collect your child’s health information with your consent as their parent or guardian.

How we collect it

We collect information directly from you — in person, over the phone, or through our website. Where relevant, and with your consent, we may also collect information from other treating practitioners, referring providers, or health funds.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Ads and Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our advertising. This may involve information about your browser, device, and general location. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how the site functions. We do not sell your information to third parties.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Assess, diagnose, and provide chiropractic treatment
  • Communicate with you about appointments, treatment, and your account
  • Process payments and health fund or Medicare claims
  • Send appointment reminders and, where you’ve opted in, newsletters or promotions — you can unsubscribe at any time
  • Improve our services and website
  • Meet our legal and professional obligations, including under AHPRA and Victorian health legislation

Who we may share it with

We only share your information where necessary and permitted by law, including with:

  • Other healthcare providers involved in your care, with your consent or where clinically necessary
  • Health funds, Medicare, or other payers, for billing purposes
  • Our practice management and IT service providers, who are bound by confidentiality obligations
  • Regulators or authorities, where required by law

We do not share your information with family members or other third parties without your consent, except where required by law.

Storage and security

Your information is held securely in our practice management system and is only accessible to authorised staff. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect it against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

Access and correction

You have the right to request access to, or correction of, the health information we hold about you, under the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic). Contact us using the details below to make a request. We may ask you to verify your identity, and a reasonable fee may apply to cover the cost of providing access.

How long we keep it

We retain health records for a minimum of 7 years from your last consultation. For patients who were under 18 at their last consultation, we retain records until they turn 25. Records are securely destroyed or de-identified once they’re no longer required.

If our practice changes hands

If Pure Chiropractic is ever sold, merged, or closed, we will give current clients notice and make this information publicly available, in line with our obligations under the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic), including how you can access your records afterward.
